Hello I am a mom that is told constantly that I should do voice overs with constant reading out loud to rooms of people like my kids, their classes as well as the elderly. I thought that maybe it would be worth the try. I have had 7 years of vocal training and I am now testing the waters to see if it is the right fit for me. I range in many categories because I have been trained in soprano, alto, and tenor. I have a lot of fun with my voice and because of time I have learned a lot of control. I look forward to the various opportunities that this field brings.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

The different accents and other genres of vocal abilities I have are old country black woman, and young country black woman, a young country black girl, a pixie fairy voice, a gospel singer, a narrator of suspense, a narrator for children story books. I have a corporate voice. A legal secretary voice. A county clerk voice, a irritated voice operator, an angry mother, occasionally I can do a woman preacher.

My Voice Experience

I have done many jobs using my voice I started very young singing and doing plays in school all the way through. My family sang and took care of babies. My mother thought it important to have voice training while in school so when on a microphone I would have the control. Starting aroud 13 years old i would go to the school and read to the children bcause i made the stories come alive in their imagination. realing that I love reading My teacher literature teachers would allow e to read out loud to the classes by the time I got to college I was revising my versions of Nat King Cole songs, and winning cash money in local open mic contest. Backing two independant artist on their albums was the closest I came to singing in the studio . I still do alot of reading my dream is to offer audio book reading to my portfolio.

My Training

I started singing early, before I was 7 I was on Friendlywill missionary baptist church choir album featuring Mae Gatewood and friends, I started vocal training with Beaula Flowers In Los Angeles at the age of 11, she was from the Bealize she specialized in controlling strong voices with a vibrato and effect. I completed my training with her after 3 years and did a year at St. Bernards High School where I directed the school choir and studied with the vocal ensemble there. After leaving St.Bernards I went to study under Steven James for the next 3 years where we performed in numerous plays and musical like the world Famous "FAME'" as well as "THE WIZ". Leaving Mr.James I then went to study for 2 years at South West College in Los Angeles in their vocal classes as well as speech. I am an avid writer which comes to me because of my love for reading. I am detail oriented and I love description as well as people. I look forward to observing and recreating all the different kind with my voice.

My Studio Equipment

I have the new apple computer where I can do a number of recording. I also have the Sound studio 3 made specially for mac users for recording edit and adding effects to audio. I do have a professional studio around the corner from me but I am also able to drive to what ever studio is required for the job.

Additional Skills

I am a beautiful young woman that takes responsibilities very serious. Have worked for airline companies as well as for International Attorneys for Hilton world headquarters. I left on great terms and I am always welcomed back to the companies if I ever choose to return but my life has taken me other place to experience wonderful parts of the world as well as people. From reading to people to express a clear understanding, allowing a peacefulness to be in the atmosphere, to singing in front of a group of people giving and rejuvenating life where none thought there was any. Using your voice comes from with in one way or the other. Knowing that is how you exercise the control.
