My Voice Experience

TERRY CASEY
I've been "playing" voice over guy, announcer guy, and TV anchor guy since I was about 6, determined to make it all become reality one day. I discovered I could use a stick as a microphone while calling--and simultaneously playing in--neighborhood baseball & football games. I upgraded to hand-held spoons as a pretend DJ or as a weatherman clutching a wooden yardstick as a pointer to show approaching cold fronts sweeping across an old US map I'd taped to the wall for mock weathercasts. I traded in sticks and spoons when I got my first mini reel-to-reel tape recorder. Now, it was real. After all, it was on tape! I got my "first break" as a bagboy at the local grocery when the store manager gave me the assignment of announcing over the the store-wide sound system that banana prices were slashed to 10-cents a pound, and to get rid of other perishable Saturday night inventory. It was my first experience with hard-sell "spot". I was still working there and attending Jr.College when it happened: my first job as a real broadcaster at a local, reputable and established radio station. Later, that job morphed into a career as an award winning TV news anchor and reporter with occasional, outside VO work including documentaries, industrials and corporate narrations. That foundation served as a springboard to launching my own business as a voice over and on-camera talent. I'm a strong writer and strong interviewer, and I've hosted, interviewed and scripted various half hour TV programs (segmented, news-like infomercials). The passion and creativity that flared into life way back when still thrives. I love what I do, and blessed to be able to do it.

Experience counts, and I've accumulated quite a bit of it in this industry. I want you to know that I am a professional and I'll give you my best effort. I have a reputation of being easy to work with, which usually helps. And although this may sound like a cliche, I must say it: I really enjoy people!
