Voice Description

I have a naturally open and friendly voice that includes a lot of inflection. I've often been complemented that I sound easy to trust and feel comfortable around.

Depending on what's being called for I can move from tones that suggest a happy teen having a normal conversation to a powerful, womanly voice that calls for attention and respect.

I often volunteer at libraries and school functions that involve me reading to large audiences of children, and retain the ability to read ahead in order to shift my tone for different characters, and situations, smoothly. I pride myself in my ability to present text to an audience in the way I feel the author must have meant it to be heard.

Professional tones are second nature to me, and I often mimic the sound of the operator that informs you that you've reached the wrong number for my friends entertainment, they say the resemblance is uncanny.

I have no natural accent, I speak perfectly clear American, and while I currently live in Texas, I have no trace of a southern drawl.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

I have the odd habit of being able to pick up accents. When I hear them from other people I unconsciously begin to mimic them.
My best accents are Indian, Native American, African and Hawaiian.
I can also alter my voice to sound like that of an alien, or a very angry cat that is able to speak English. As a matter of fact, I can make up or twist my voice into any number of accents and pitches, a talent I picked up from my brief interest in puppetry.

My Voice Experience

I have mostly volunteered to read to children in libraries and only recently realized my talents were applicable as a career.
I have always been able to hold great control over my tones and inflections, and have used this to great extents in many of my endeavors. None of which I was payed for.

So while I am very experienced in using my voice in theatrical, commercial, and entertaining ways, I have no professional experience, but I am willing to work with prospective employers to compensate for this. As this line of work is supplemental, and mostly for my enjoyment, I won't be joining unions or demanding more money in the middle of things.

My Training

I was in drama clubs since the beginning of middle school, and always the first to volunteer to read aloud in any circumstance. I'm also a creative writer, and very good at coming up with the right thing to say in a tight spot.

As I have mentioned, I've been volunteering to read aloud at libraries for a long period of time now. I find great joy in doing so and have quite a knack for it. I'm able to go for long periods at a time and keep the voices of even the most entangled characters straight. I also enjoy reading to myself very much.

I have an automatic way of feeling what voice is needed for what is being read, although I have no problem with being directed on this.

My Studio Equipment

I have no studio, but I am able to seal off any noise from a room if such is needed. I do have access to the internet, and I am very well versed on sending, making and receiving sound files.

Additional Skills

I'm very sweet tempered and wonderful with people. I have a cheerful disposition and good work ethic. My persistence to have a job done well and please the people I am working with is rooted in my personality.
I don't mind complicated or extended projects, and have a high tolerance and good hand with fussy people. If you acknowledge your-self as someone that is hard to get along with, you may want to give me a try.
