Voice Description

My normal voice is warm, enveloping, yet professional that can be used for narrations, documentaries, presentations, and even educational projects.

You want hot stuff, make your adrenaline shake you all over and want some action? Maybe here's your chance to find a VERY sexual and alluring voice that will make you melt!

It's mainly thanks to my cats and inner child that I have surprised myself with a very high-pitched voice (can be nasally to sound more childish) that can be used in anything fun, animation, commercials, and the like.

I'm a natural from Madrid, Spain. The beauty is that I know most, if not all, the accents of all the regional languages: Gallego, Asturiano- Cantábrico, Basque, Catalán-Valenciano- Mallorquín, Madrid-Central provinces, Andaluz. Furthermore, having lived in Florida for over a year and living in Colorado for over 8 years, I have acquired the accents of a few Latin-American countries (in Spanish; they sound pretty much alike when spoken in English): Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico (US territory), Chile, & Argentina.

In addition to Spanish being my first language, French (France's French: 2 different accents depending on what part of France you're in) and English are my second languages. I have a trained ear in Italian, Greek, and Russian mostly due to self-studies and family relations. I can only recreate the Portuguese accent in Spanish.

I must admit I don't know who (actor, comedian, etc.) I can emulate. The zoo, however, is my favorite place where I can test my voice on both chimpanzees and the owls. My "seal" language is too close to perfection. I'm an easy and eager learner.

My Voice Experience

Does honesty truly lead someone to work? You’re nodding but answer this: why is it that nobody called me, negated to even hold an interview with me every time I’ve told the truth about my work experience? Why is it that I’ve had to hone my acting skills almost to perfection and I still haven’t won an Oscar yet? What does one thing have to do with the other? Just look at my jaw-dropping Executive Assistant resume. So much knowledge, so many years of uninterrupted work experience… Yeah, right!

What my honesty takes to the voice-over plate is no experience whatsoever but beaucoup willpower, determination, passion, understanding, and all the positive "good stuff" you can think of. (I don’t consider changing my voice to “I’m sick as a dying dog” person or putting a cloth over the phone & talk in my high-pitched voice for collections and marketing purposes a true voice-over.) I've always been blind to my vocal talents, too scared, lacked confidence to even fathom marketing them for work. What has changed? “Talking” to the cats. “Communicating” with the seals, “monkeying” around the chimps at the zoo. Emulating the little girl advertising Welch’s grape juice on T.V. Sexually (yet jokingly) flirting with my husband in public just to embarrass the living crap out of him. I actually LISTENED to myself. I finally took off my blinders: my voice, aided by my love for acting and all my high school drama classes & sessions, is my true talent and purpose in life.

While marketing myself as a Translator/ Interpreter, I came across a gentleman from eDuss Media, Inc. who greeted me enthusiastically. He told me about the business (educational CDs created in Australia) and how they were planning on creating a Spanish (more Mexican than any other language) CD. For such purpose, they needed a translator and someone who could verbalize the CD content. This was supposed to happen this past December, 2005. Unfortunately, this gentleman was diagnosed with cancer and the project has been stopped, if not completely eradicated. There went my first voice-over job but I’m ready to attack whatever is given me because I know it will be a success.

My Training

Do I have any professional training in voice-overs? Does having a damn good ear, daily practice, and living abroad for over 25 years count for anything? I’m half joking, by the way. The only true voice training education I’ve had was during my middle school years in chorus, my high school drama years, and my freshman college experience in both French literature class and the nerve-wrecking Russian class (I’ve NEVER been with the most severe, intransigent, and “wanna-be-murdered” professor in my entire schooling!). I’m not joking or trying to be arrogant when I say that my voice is a natural talent that I didn’t even consider as a talent until quite recently. I mistakenly believed acting was my true call although I’m horribly shy in front of large groups… even a 10-person party! I’ve made children laugh and adults look questioningly at my husband as to why I’m not in a madhouse every time I visit the zoo. I remember a chimp in the Miami Zoo that would not budge when I emulated their noises and literally jumped around. That chimp, with his hands, literally shooed me off. When I was done and started walking away, I started hearing so much laughter because the chimp decided to moon me! Was that an indication of my bad voice-over?

I practice my voices and accents every day out of sheer fun, always goofing around with my cats and my husband. I talk quite frequently due to my sporadic interpreting jobs. They enable me to profound my knowledge of the Mexican accent (which varies due to geographic areas as well as education). This is the first time I’m marketing my voice and will keep on doing so as well as learning, keeping my throat healthy, and doing everything in my power to be heard loud and clear.
