My Voice Experience
Thousands of presentations from one on one to hundreds of people; live, taped, radio and TV. Included teaching classes and being interviewed for radio talk shows and TV news. Administrator and Chairperson for various public meetings, many recorded and broadcast on public access TV.
Voice overs and narration for educational and informational videos and commercials.
Scripted recordings for telephone answering and information.
Reading out loud to adults and children, both fiction and non-fiction, some taped for later audio listening.
My Training
Started in high school doing voice overs and narration for videos of each subject taught at the local vocational technical school, for review by prospective students.
Asked to do voice recordings at many of the companies I worked for and always got stuck answering the phones in many jobs because, "You have such a good phone voice."
Ran business meetings and public meetings. Gave presentations to individuals, families, boards of directors, companies, unions, school teachers; at meetings, seminars, classes, workshops, etc. Started with Economic Development, then to Workers' Compensation, Labor Relations, Employee Involvement, Health Care Cooperation, Health Care Insurances, Prescription Drug Coverage and usage, Negotiating Health Care Benefits, Understanding Medicare, Health Care Continium (PFFS, PPO, POS, HMO, HRA Medicare Rx Drug Part D Plans, Medicare Advantage Plans. Working with boy scouts and school students on reading aloud for learning and fun, skits, plays, talent shows, etc.
My Studio Equipment
Simply find a quiet place to do phone recordings and to tape my voice overs and narrations on my computer via a microphone.
Have no special equipment.
Will travel to a studio if the pays is enough.
Would consider investing in equipment if I started to have enough work to substantiate the cost.
Additional Skills
My day job is an independent insurance agent, specializing in Medicare. I enjoy interacting with Seniors and helping them learn about Medicare, the programs available, and finding the right plan for them.
My selling skills are based on educating people about the products and helping them fill their needs and wants.
I enjoy doing the voice work to help people and would like to make a part time income from this work if I have enough opportunity.
This would give me 2 types of employment that I really enjoy. And the flexibility to schedule my time and place where I work from - at home or even while vacationing.
