My Voice Experience

I started out as a young child in LA doing cartoon voiceovers for a well-known children's TV show, Captain Kangaroo. More recently, I was not only the on-camera spokesperson for the United Way's Asian-American campaign, but I also sang their theme song. I was the narrator for the entire Pediatric Medical Series of films for The Austin Group and Medcom, Inc., and the bilingual voice in the promotional video and the radio commercial for Siempre Mujer magazine. I also am featured in a series of Aids Education Videos for the Columbia University School of Social Work.

My Training

I have a BFA-Concentration in Theater from the State University Of New York's Empire State College, and have taken numerous seminars in Voice, Theater and Audio Production in Los Angeles and New York.

But I would say I've learned even more from years of actual professional experience: both how to provide a wide range of vocal tones and types, and the technical skills necessary to meet a client's needs in a prompt, proficient and professional manner.

My Studio Equipment

I have a home studio, where I've recorded everything from voiceovers to musicals. I have a Audio-Technica 4050, (which I have found to be the most complementary microphone for my voice), along with Shure and EV microphones. I record digitally into Logic Studio through a Digidesign MBox.

I also have easy access to a full professional recording studio just over the bridge in New Jersey, with high-end microphones, including a Neumann U87, a
Soundelux 251 and an AT 4050, and a variety of vocal processing equipment such as
a Focusrite Liquid Channel and a Demeter VTMP-2c Limited Edition preamps. We also have a whole array of computer voice editing plug-ins.
This is also a complete music production studio, capable of composing and recording any music required for a Voiceover spot.

Additional Skills

I'm from a medical family and have studied Anatomy and Physiology, so I'm very good with medical terminology and dialogue. As a performer on Broadway, TV and film for many years, my voice is clear and easy to understand, but still casual and conversational.
As a singer, I've worked with artists ranging from the Carpenters to Alice Cooper and Clarence Clemons, and I'm on the Symphonic Recording of Miss Saigon (Broadway Co.). I've had a couple of small record labels work with me as a songwriter, and I've enjoyed performing with my flute and guitar in downtown New York clubs such as Baby Jupiter and Madame X.
I've also engineered music demos not only for pop artists but for musical theater productions as well.
And I've even worked as a Spanish Language claims rep for an auto insurance company, so I can handle technical jargon in Spanish.
