Voice Description

My voice is naturally warm and I use that when I am reading commercials for radio where I have to play mom or wife or even a sister, talking about everyday situations. I use a softer, more sexy voice for those commercials that call for that type of mood or attitude. Voice-overs of a more serious nature or narrations call for my voice to be a little softer and professional. Unless it is a very serious or sad subject, I always smile when reading so you can hear it over the air.

My Voice Experience

Radio has always been a passion and that is what I went towards after college. I worked at several different stations, many being in the same building owned by the same company. That afforded me the opportunity to do a lot of different commercials and I also did a variety of shift times, including the morning show which was my favorite. I also read voice-overs for the local television station ranging from 15 seconds for the local bank to 60 seconds for a funeral home. In addition, I narrated a 15 minute short on a local hospital hitting a milestone.

My Training

I attended Point Park College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I majored in Journalism and Communications with a minor in English.
My favorite classes where the broadcasting classes, which included radio production, writing and several on-air type classes. The college radio station got me hooked and I had numerous jobs throughout my college career.

Additional Skills

I held several internships, including ones at the local fox affiliate, a record label and the city's all news radio station. I worked for several stations in Pittsburgh behind the scenes and moved to get more experience on-air. That experience includes production, newscaster and morning show host. I also did voice-overs for the local television station.
