Voice Description
Although born in Arkansas, my moving to Illinois during grade school quickly taught me to lose the southern accent so as not to be teased by the children. Therefore I am able to effectively use a southern accent when needed. I currently reside in New Jersey and therefore am able to sound like a Jersian or New Yorker, specifically the nasal Long Island sound. My voice is not easily identified as being from a specific region. I modulate well, as a sales person in the telecom industry I have recorded many company greetings.

My Voice Experience
I have 25 years of experience selling voice messaging systems. Many times I was asked to do the auto attendant greetings and messages on hold during the sales process. In that my paycheck reflected my sales, and if a company wanted my voice to sign the contract I was always agreeable to providing the voice as a part of the deal. My ability to adapt my voice to the customer, i.e., selling to a Long Island based company or selling to an Arkansas based company, again has been motivated by the commission at hand

My Training
My training began, as a ministers daughter, with the church choir. My father, since retired, was the head of several high profile churches, the last being on Park Avenue in New York City. Obviously he is a public speaker. Therefore, my training in diction and projection began as soon as I was able to say "dada". I have continued to be in singing groups and as a sales person have been coached in presentation skills, which include diction, projection and modulation.

Additional Skills
My background in voice messaging is an asset to companies looking for auto attendant greetings because of the extensive work I have done in designing the verbiage for the script, to work most effectively for the callers. For instance, the order in which to place the key to press for specific departments etc., so callers would not zero out for a live attendant, thereby defeating the purpose of the system? My ability to blend in at a pig roast in Iowa to a black tie event in New York City allows for adaptability in dialect that is advantageous to companies.
