My Voice Experience

I have been a conoisseur of voices since I was a young child. I am able to mimic a wide range of characters and dialects and practice this art every day. I am an unpublished writer, my stories are full of 'characters'. I read the voices out loud and practice new voices on my friends and family by 'becoming' my character over the telephone. I have a 95% success rate, that is - 95% of the time my closest friends and family do not know it is me who they are talking to.

My favourite character is Mary, an elderly Lancashire lady who lives with her son, Gerald. Gerald does not know when his mother is suffering from dementia, or when she is behaving normally, so similar are the two states. I often find myself slipping 'into Mary' in public, so familiar am I with her character! I have made lots of new male friends with my 'normal' voice, which is naturally very husky and sexy, and get very appealing discounts off goods and services as a result of my natural talent. I have no formal training, and feel that my lifetime of studying and 'becoming' other people holds me in good stead for any voice-over work. I don't need a certificate to tell me I'm good - but realise that you probably do - and respect this.

I have lived, travelled and worked in 17 different countries, from Africa to Papua New Guinea. I have dined with bag ladies and Presidents. I have been rich, and I have been poor.
