Decades ago, in the 70's and 80's, I did the narration for a series of medical training films produced by Milner-Fenwick (Baltimore) used by Johns Hopkins Hospitals and in doctors' offices in Baltimore, MD.
I also did v/o on multiple commercials, both local and national, for television and radio in Baltimore and Washington (Taylor-Royall Casting). including Farrell Ice Cream Parlors, a national drugstore chain, the State of Virginia, among others.
Life intervened and I had to shelve my career for a while but I have returned, hopefully to the fold.
I was a theatre major at Michigan State University but received my B A in Theatre at Notre Dame of Md. I also hold a Masters in Education and a Ph.D. in Research Methodology (both from University of Virginia). In the 70's, I studied with Uta Hagen at HB Studio. For seven years I have taken advanced scene study classes from Austin Pendleton at HB Studio. Currently, I am working with Marla Kirben, coach for voice over work. In addition, I study voice with Hilda Harris at Manhattan School of Music.
For nearly twenty years, I was an institutional stockbroker and a public speaker and teacher of investing at universities, Chautauqua Institution, the Greenbrier White Sulphur Springs.
I have written seven books published by Follett, Grove Press, Scroll Press, Bancroft and Oaklea Press and have had nine plays for young people produced in Baltimore, Cleveland and New York. For one book, "The Whole Kitt and Caboodle" (Bancroft: 1995), I did two book tours and appeared on CNN and MSNBC, as well as WGN in Chicago.
I own a Yeti Ultimate USB Microphone and have the capability of recording from home but no actual studio.
I am knowledgeable about investing in stocks and bonds, having been an institutional stockbroker for 10 years and a retail stockbroker for five years. During those years, i also taught investing to adult students.
I am now a professional actor, storyteller, and playwright and have written and performed 10 solo plays and have an arsenal of 8 original stories which I have told in Manhattan venues (The Players Club, TADA Theatre, Stage Left Studio).
