Adept at a range of delivery styles from the serious and sober to the sexy, lively and dramatic I have experience as a professional news reader on All India radio in India and a voice actor in the U.K.
My voice talent has been used for recording audio material for teaching Hindi by Dr Rupert Snell (former lecturer in Hindi, S.O.A.S.) in his (1)Beginners's Hindi (Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton, 2003); (2)Teach Yourself Hindi Converation (Publsher:Hodder & Stoughton, 2005 )and also by Aishwarj Kumar (Hindi teacher, Cambridge University) for recording Hindi learning material for his 'Hindi Baatcheet', recorded at S.O.A.S., London University.
Participated in a half-day workshop, 'Voice Over Master Class', by Gary Terzza (Voice-Over coach and professional voice-over artist regularly heard on Channel 4)and made with the help of Mr Terzza's guidance a professionally recorded demo of my voice in a studio in London on 17th December 2005.
I am trained as a vocalist in Indian music.
I was actively involved in theatre and music in school and university and have several awards in elocution, drama and music to my credit.
I have experience teaching history at the university level in India, a profession that requires not only a good grasp of one's field of knowledge but also performance and communication skills of a high order.
I believe my long years in academics and interest in the arts and culture would enable me to bring to voice over jobs especially those involving narration for educational films/radio programmes or films with serious cultural or scholarly subject matter an intelligence, understanding and sensitivity that would enhance the over all impact of programmes requiring voice overs.
