My Voice Experience
I have been in the news, sports, entertainment and information business using my voice and writing skills for 37 years. The first 28 were in the TV news industry where at various times I was a news and sports anchor and reporter in Top 20 markets. I have earned numerous honors from a Florida Emmy to the Edward R. Murrow journalism award. My voice over narrations for a syndicated series called "Artifacts Past" are heard by students in classrooms throughout the United States. I am the corporate voice in promotional, marketing and informational videos for MOVE International - a worldwide organization that teaches those with severe disabilities to sit, stand and walk independently. Currently, I work for an educational institution where I am the "house" voice for PSAs, commercials and promotions, as well as the manager for all print publications dealing with everything from annual reports and news releases to educational video scripts and newsletters. Because of my varied background, I can manufacture a project to meet your specific needs from the light and comic to the serious and dramatic.
My Training
Trained in announcing, newscasting and sports play-by-play techniques by Hollywood movie, TV and radio professionals while earning my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism at California State University, Northridge. Spent 28 years perfecting my voice skills by learning from the dozens of announcers, anchors and reporters I worked with as a news and sports anchor/reporter, documentary producer and announcer in Pittsburgh, PA, Tampa and Orlando, FL, Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN and Bakersfield, CA.
My Studio Equipment
I produce voice overs in my home studio using a Rode NT2-A condensor mic, Electro Voice N/D967 dynamic mic, Presonus TubePre preamp, Lambda Lexicon Midi Interface, Intel Imac Core 2 Duo computer, Sound Forge Audio Studio 9, Cubase LE 4, Garage Band, Audacity, Kristal and Itunes software. For more complicated projects I contract with local production houses.
Additional Skills
As a veteran of the TV news industry, I am knowledgeable about and routinely used video production skills in my work. I have the ability to blend voice and video in the right combination to achieve a desired effect. Many of my honors are the result of using voice and video skills to produce award-winning productions.
