Voice Description
The best description for my voice is "that guy from the radio." While I am certainly no Bob Edwards, my voice is pleasant and records much better than I give me credit. I grew up in the Midwest although my accent can take a light Southern turn at times. My pronunciation is very good and my vocabulary expansive. I animate for sports announcing or reading stories. I can also present business material without being stuffy or monotonous.

My Voice Experience
Most people who meet for the first time say I should be in radio or voiceovers. After hearing it enough times, I decided to give this a try. I have some stage acting experience from high school, college, and community theatre. My casting has been mostly for my voice and less for my physical stage presence. I have also done some announcing for high school basketball games.
My Training
My college degree is in Drama although I was mostly a backstage person unless a disembodied voice or radio recording was needed for the show. I have basic acting training that came with that degree but I haven't been on stage in quite a while. The most fun I have these days is with my answering machine. I don't like them so I leave an unusual message.

Additional Skills
This is a new adventure for me. I have finally decided to take the plunge and see if this is something I would like to do. I usually have a lot of fun doing (really bad) impressions and fun voices for a laugh, but it really is the fact that SO many people have said I should do something with my voice.
I keep myself in practice by reading to my children and other children. I teach a Sunday school class of fairly active kids so my voice has to carry authority to keep them in line. I do some phone support in my line of work (servers and networks) which also gives me a great command of technical jargon and a LOT of practice at distilling that into terms most people can understand.
