Voice Description
I have a very strong, effective voice that ranges between tenor and bass, with a solid falsetto that can extend well into alto and beyond. My tone is generally rich and warm, and I have sung professionally since childhood.
If there is one quality I can rely on vocally, it is versatility. My natural voice is warm, deep, with a slightly aggressive edge. But depending on the project, I can adapt my tone, delivery, and pitch to serve your needs. If you're looking for a humorous, lighter edge for your commercial, a high-energy tone for your clearance sale, a smooth groove for your call letters, or a deadly serious, matter-of-fact straight player, I am there for you. I can adapt to almost any male vocal situation.
I am also able to do a very wide assortment of accents, voices, and impressions that have come in handy over the years. Whether it be a Southern drawl, a island-style patois, a brogue, or strictly as I am, I can provide you with just about any male voice you might need for your project.

My Voice Experience
I have been a singer and musician most of my life, and ever since I was a child, I have had a knack for vocal emulation, which started with me singing Elvis songs for my Grandma. Other people's voices have always come naturally to me, whether it's a specific character, a singing voice, or a self-created characterization.
As a sing and voice over artist, I have primarily worked with an agency called Shadow Productions, in Burlington, Vermont. I have done radio work primarily, but have also done some television spots as well.
Some of the companies and groups I have worked with include:
-Jay Peak Ski Resort (at last check, they are still using my voice on TV and radio 15 years after the initial gig...)
-Climb High Outdoor Stores
-Harry's Exit 18 Truck Stop
-Windshield World (Regional company in the Northeast who has used my spot for almost twenty years.)
I am looking to put my skills to use in a major market, and live less than an hour North of the City, and am ready to come in at a moment's notice to your studio, and am also able to do pretty short-term turnaround work from home and local studios. My voice is fit, strong, and kept fresh with my work as a singer, and I would love to put my distinctive, versatile, and expressive voice to work for you. If you're looking to stand out, and work with someone that knows how to put your product or service first, get it recognized, and remembered, than give me a shot. I will not let you down!
My Training
-I have a BA in English Literature and Writing from the University of Vermont, 1991.
-I have sung for other people professionally since I was three years old. I have extensive choral experience, as well as being in several bands over the past 20 years.
-I have worked on and off with Shadow Productions in Burlington, Vermont, primarily in the 90's, and have recently been invited to re-join their talent roster.
-I have also worked with Bear Pond Productions with producer Matt Richardson, who retains clients that range from Stowe Mountain Resort to Burton Snowboards and beyond.
-I took part in many dramatic productions in college, including Antigone, Private Wars, Tom Jones, The Blacks, and others.
-I am an active singer, writer, performer, and producer.
My Studio Equipment
The studio I work with utilizes the following equipment:
-MOTU 828 firewire audio interface on an apple platform
-Digital performer software as well as Final Cut Studio
-Several mics, but primary one is a Rode NT1-A
(I am in the process of putting together my in-home studio, but have the ability to record demos via my Mac Book Pro, and have access to the regional studio above.)
Additional Skills
My life is built around my voice, my ear, and my music. I am detail-oriented, and having a versatile vocal instrument that can adapt to different situations, and an ear for production, I am able to listen to your needs as a client, and translate those needs into your ad, and onto the recording.
While I am able to do lots of characterizations, accents, and impersonations, I believe that oftentimes, the best voice is your own, direct, natural, with excellent diction, timing, and delivery. In almost every situation, it works best, and to everyone's advantage, to use my voice and the voice over itself to put the product or service first, to use the voice as a "delivery vehicle". This is an area where versatility and flexibility play to great advantage for me...
Among other life experiences, I have spent time working on the phone with clients in the U.S., throughout Europe, South America, and Australia, have traveled extensively, and I do know the power and impact of the spoken, and specifically spoken, word. Nuances in pitch, cadence, speed, and many other factors can broaden, soften, spike, question, state-- All can be used to maximize the impact you can have on people. These particulars can be directly translated to the mass media market, and is a further source of strength in my performance.
Being a student of people, a lover of music, and an experienced entertainer and businessman round out my skill set, and I feel, make me a more effective, adaptable professional. I hope you'll let me put these skills to work for you in your upcoming project!
