My Voice Experience
My 34 year career in commercial radio ended Aug. 15th, 2011. My last stint in radio lasted 14 years at WCLO (AM) and WJVL (FM) in Janesville, Wisconsin. (medium radio market) I decided to look for work in the voice-over and modeling fields at that time and am now pursuing that.
My Training
After high school, I attended Brown Institute (now called Brown College) in Minneapolis. I was employed briefly as a disc jockey in 1977 but quickly found news to be my forte. I've worked as a field reporter, court reporter, news anchor and news director.
I plan to install a home studio soon. Until then, I have access to a home studio about 20 minutes from my house.
I also have a background in music, playing guitar in local rock bands between 1968-1980. I have not kept up my skills, but know my way around six string and bass guitars.
My Studio Equipment
I am currently using a friend's basement studio and have been emailing commercial auditions (mp3) to clients an agency is supplying to me.
I have worked a board over my radio career and would easily pick up skills once I establish my own studio.
Additional Skills
I have limited knowledge in sport shooting (hunting), and playing guitar and bass guitar.
