Voice Description
I was born in Scotland and my voice ranges from soft Scottish to broad Scottish and Glaswegian. I have a very deep resonant voice which allows me to be both passionate about a subject as well as serious. My Training
At University, I was taught presentation techniques which was further enhanced by joining the graduate Programme at CSC Computer sciences where we underwent Consultant training. A great deal of this involved presentations to clients, effective client communication and using the voice as a positive influence on conversations. This was further enhanced when i joined Merrill Lynch (12 weeks training) where i underwent more voice techniques specific to the business world.
I studied acting at Birmingham School of Acting where we had voice specific classes on voice control, radio acting, voice maintenance and projection. We also studied various ways to employ the voice as a business tool and looked at vocal auditions, voice overs, voice greetings, radio work and voicemail.
My Studio Equipment
I have Roland recording equipment and a sound booth at home.
Additional Skills
I come from a Corporate background and my Business qualifications are;
- a BA in Business Studies
- A MSc in Information & Administrative Mangement
I spent several years working in Banks including Abbey National, National Australia, RBS, Merrill Lynch and Tesco Personal Finance. This has resulted in an excellent understanding of the business and corporate world. I have also worked and lived in Montana (USA), Australia and New Zealand.
I live in central london and only need a half hour to get to a most of the London based studios. If a studio is necessary, I can recommend several which i have worked at before.
I also have ADSL and recording equipment at home and am able to email or ftp voiceclips in various formats.
