Voice Description

Snarky: I'm told I am great at sarcasm. I like to have fun and can do jokes dead pan. You can ask the receptionist at my previous place of employment; I prank called her at least twice each week. She never caught on, but I finally confessed. She's an older woman and I felt guilty.

Caramel-like: I can go into my chest - not literally, but my voice can. This gives it that warm, cozy feeling that is great for narration.

Sexy: I did voice-over work for an adult telephone talk line. Ultimately it went out of business - I don't think it was due to my voice...perhaps it was the fault of the talent providing the service? Who knows!

Smooth, professional, firm, and trustworthy: Good for making people feel at ease when sharing important information.

My Voice Experience

Right to the point:

Voice-Over Experience:
Various IVR systems. Including heavy recording for hold messages, voice mail greetings, and blended with hold music.

Voice-over for telephone dating lines and internal voice mail systems that had a menu of options and other voice mail greetings.

Voice talent for a multi-million dollar Psychic telephone service and provided the voice-over for two television commercials and 3 radio spots that ran with great success in major cities such as Los Angeles, Baltimore, New York, and throughout the United States.

I'm ready to do podcasting, more on hold messages, messages for voice mail or any IVR and voice mail greetings.

My Training

In my late teens and early twenties, I had some private voice and diction lessons. This was mainly to develop my singing voice, but it taught me breath techniques, which can be useful in non-singing situations - like holding my breath under water or having to read for a long commerical spot.

I am an adult college student - going back to receive a degree in Liberal Arts with emphasis in Creative Writing and Philosophy. I have taken a handful of communications courses. One in particular that taught me how to write for TV and Radio news scripts - how to say what you want to say in 20 seconds. It taught me how to be a better editor.

I have a certificate in Proofreading and Copyediting. I am great at getting to the point of a script or other written word.

Additional Skills

I am a Sagittarius. I enjoy long walks on a quiet mountain path, and anything with broccoli.

My 10+ years of corporate-living in Marketing and Brand Management serve me well. I understand the importance of the “voice” behind a company.

I sing and play guitar. I sing fairly well - more of a bluegrass, folksy edge. However, I am known to break out into song that has Ethel Merman flair. I sometimes feel as if I should've gone into the Lounge Singing Sector. I remind myself that there's still time.

I'm an amateur astrologer, a poet, short-story writer now dabbling in writing stories for children.
