My Voice Experience

LOVE TO TALK, LOVE TO SING!

Having always been told what a lovely speaking voice I have, some years ago I decided to start using it and have been a co-presenter on BBC Radio London's Black Londoners programme, and on the Work-Easy programme on Spectrum Radio. I have had very good feedback on my radio voice.

I have a great deal of experience in delivering presentations and training courses, where clear and understandable communication is paramount. A key feature of my employment as a Project Co-ordinator with GlaxoSmithKline was my speaking and singing abilities as I had to present sometimes quite controversial sexual health information to diverse community and faith groups and audiences. Often the best ice-breaker was a quick song which then enabled me to get the message across.

I feel that I am an effective communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills.

I have sung since I was 6, in acapella groups, with soul, jazz and reggae bands. I have also sung with classical and gospel choirs and facilitated vocal skills workshops. I love singing too so I embrace a variety of opportunities to get out there and do it!

I am happy to consider a wide range of voice-over opportunities and feel that the versatility of my voice and voiceover talent offers great value for money to any employer.

My Training

I have done Gary Terzza's Beginner Level Voiceover Masterclass and have recently completed Gary's Advanced Level Voiceover Masterclass. I intend to continue my training within this field in order to improve and update my skills on a regular basis.

I have had private singing lessons for several years, most recently at VoxBox in Euston and attended City and Islington Vocal Skills workshops, Advanced Vocal workshops run by the Working Men's College, Camden and Vocal workshops run by Black Women in the Arts, in Hackney.

Additional Skills

I am a good team player, and have excellent interpersonal skills. One of my key skills is putting people at their ease and creating an environment where they can feel relaxed. This comes in handy as I am also a trained Counsellor and Reiki Master and often carry out guided meditation with clients.

I have a great deal of experience in communicating complex information in a clear and easily understandable manner and enjoy the challenge involved in this.

My voice is very versatile and I can produce a very warm, soothing, sensual and often sexy sound. However I can also make my voice sound very formal, direct and efficient and very fun, happy and amusing.
