As a life-long educator, I have had lectures recorded on a variety of topics (specialty: Writing and Writers; Jungian Psychology); as part of a mobile university lecture circuit, I presented topics of choice and was amazed when Warner-Lamber Laboratories opted for a lunch-time lecture on "Dreams: theatre of the night" - I anticipated about 8 interested females and was startled to fine 40+ white-coated scientists sitting in wrapt attention and contributing pure gold to the discussion which followed my presentation. I have appeared on TV as part of a Richmond, Virgina, church presentation on storytelling for children and have presented storytelling projects for both civic and church organizations -- all recorded and available for purchase.
As Director of Education and Training for bankers in NYC,
I have recorded training CD's and have coached other presenters in the same process. I enjoy interviewing by way of college/university stations and reviewing books...best of all have been the forays into self-help areas of motivation: spiritual quests;dream interpretation; engaging the emerging self; writing from the heart, etc.
BA from Immaculata College, PA (Humanities; concentration in English Language Arts); MA from the University of Indiana at Bloomington (Comparative Literature, Concentration in the New Critical Approach);
MA (not completed) in Jungian Studies from Old Dominion Universtiy, Norfolk Virginia. Presenter for the Virgina Center for the Creative Arts with specialty in poetic expression. Journalism forays with news magazines in both North and South America with social consciousness motifs - CD's produced and disseminated on specific articles. Conducted interviews with financial players in NYC's financial district as part of a trade association -
some of these were recorded for reproduction at conventions, etc. Conducted research on women's dreams for Sundance Community Dream Journal in Virgina Beach - many of these were recounted in presentations and recorded for sale.
To date, I have been using studios of friends in NYC or recording studies at colleges, universities where I have been (or am) employed. Not too personally knowledgeable about audio engineering.
An ability to engage an audience has been a prized increment in my success as both teacher and presenter. I also have a keen interest in developing internal awareness skills, listening skills, being present now skills - currently pursuing certification as a Spiritual Director, and the readings/interaction involved has increased my interest and adeptness in such areas. Teaching has equipped me with clarity of expression, but the reward I most value is the motivational ingredient which comes back from grateful students - compassion, the ability to reach in to that untapped potential in others. My work with upwardly mobile bankers in NYC, coaching them through simulations and presentation prepping, strengthened the social psychology skills I believe I possess.
