Voice Description

I can utilize several speaking styles to accomodate content in commercials, narration, audio books and other voice-over work, from low, throaty delivery to high, excited, rapid-fire announcing. My voice is usually medium to low-range in timbre, but I can speak and sing a range from bass-baritone to high tenor.
I have utilized several dialects, including Spanish, Celtic, Germanic and Scandinavian. I can deliver a wide range of charicature-type voices, suitable for cartoons and unusual commercials.

My Voice Experience

I have over thirty years' experience as a voice announcer and singer in a wide variety of styles and genres.
Singing experience is vast, from performances in operas and musicals, to choral, chamber chorale, barbershop quartet, jazz, bluegrass and many solo performances, singing classical to country.
I have announced sporting events, narrated at symphony concerts and done voice-over work for documentaries, training videos and most extensively radio promotions and commercials.
I have been in public radio for over 25 years at WNMU-FM, where I am the primary announcer and producer for the station's local announcing, promotions, liners and ID's. Before that I had experience in commercial radio, where I produced and voiced more than half the total output of WUUN-FM's commercials and promotions, liners and ID's. My Training

I am largely self-taught, learning through observation and experimentation. I have always known how versatile my voice is, being able to mimic a variety of voices and characters at a young age. From high school through college, I began using my vocal talent more extensively, performing in a variety of plays, musicals and operas, an area men's chorus, and Northern Michigan University's chorus, its select choir (the Arts Chorale) and Madrigal Singers. My training came from the directors of the stage productions I participated in, and from my choral directors. My private voice training came from Valerie Errante, currently teaching at UW-Milwaukee, and who performed extensively in opera companies in north-central Europe for over ten years before returning to the States. Additional Skills
