My Voice Experience
In a previous life I worked in radio news and management but found a way to enjoy myself selling and promoting fine wines. Now that my cellar is full it's time to resume activities behind a microphone...and I'm really enjoying it!
I volunteer weekly at the University of British Columbia's Crane Library as a reader. Each week my material changes from religious studies, teaching ESL, fiction and law cases.
I have done paid TV spots for Comfort Plus and Kroehler Gallery, radio spots for Tourism Walla "Isn't that where the onions are from?" and narrated a presentation for a BC winery's 75th anniversary.
My Training
I spent most of my university years at the campus radio station as a DJ, News Director and later paid Station Manager. I even got an undergraduate degree!
Worked in commercial radio in news as a beat reporter and broadcaster.
Reacquainted myself with the microphone a couple of years ago after taking a couple of voiceover refresher classes with an actor I had met many years ago.
Took singing lessons a year ago and was part of a choir performing La Traviata.
My Studio Equipment
Apex 181 microphone, pop screen.
