My Voice Experience
I've been performing since I was a child in various plays and as an extra in several operas - first with Sherril Milnes and then with the late Luciano Pavarotti. I first began doing voiceover work as a radio dj back when we still used those black things made out of shallack. If I remember correctly, they were called "records." :) I've since done some voice over work as well as internet podcasts - which included live interviews with talent - for a couple of websites I'm affiliated with. I also did the voiceover work for a short lived internet cartoon series back in the late 1990's. The series was called "Superghost".
I've provided the voiceover narration for several training tutorials, too.
In addition to my voiceover work, I've also been in front of the camera first for a documentary in the late 70's, the Keenan and Kel television show that used to air on Nickleodeon and then two training videos in 2000.
My Training
I have a bachelors, a masters and a doctorate.
My initial acting training was as a teen in Miami. I studied under Ms. Ruth Hellwig - a former broadway actress and Mr. Daniel Wilson - a former production manager.
As I advanced into broadcasting, I studied under Mr. Marvin Easley who was a morning announcer for CBS radio as well as, freelance reporter for several radio networks.
As a teen, I studied audio techniques and became the audio technician of choice for all of high school productions. This talent continued to develop as I moved into the college communications department where I continued learning about radio and other forms of media production.
As we moved into the internet era, I began reading and studying about web development and became very proficient at web design and flash presentations.
My Studio Equipment
I use Audacity for my podcast voiceover work. It's been several years since I've sat in front of a sound board in an actual studio but that shouldn't be a problem as my familiarity with the equipment should keep the learning curve to a minimum.
Additional Skills
I'm a certified professional photographer, a member of the Thespian Society, a member of the FACC Speakers Bureau where I'm listed as a lecturer on Computer Technology, I hold a teaching certificate in Computer Technology,I once accidentally took over a lecture on Audacity because I knew more about it than the speaker did. When he couldn't answer some questions about it I raised my hand to offer them and before I knew he was deferring to me. THAT wasn't awkward! :)
