Entered this exciting business by chance 20 odd years ago when asked to narrate travelogues shown before the main feature for a local cinema distributor film company... a baptism of fire and I've never looked back since, having been 'reorganised' shortly after. Have been lucky to have worked purely by word of mouth (the best publicity there is) all these years. Besides in Belgium, have worked extensively in Holland for companies such as KLM (10 years in-flight video), nature documentaried (Nature Conservation Films) along with standard corporates. Some of my Belgian work includes e-learning (Interbrew), phone banking (BNP Parisbas Fortis), Telenet (Prime TV promos and Telenet phone messaging), Toyota training modules, audio guides, description surgical operations (surgeon's scripts) and a host of lighter assignments.
Thrown in at the deep end 20 odd years ago I have learned every day since then... a text is always a challenge and the joy of making what appears to be incomprehensible into something that sounds like you wrote it yourself is so rewarding. Adapting to whatever is thrown at you is the best training you can get... I guess it's called experience.
