My Voice Experience

Silvie has been acting in-studio, onstage & onscreen for years. Silvie brings her extensive acting & improvising experience to her voiceover work, voicing natural, genuine reads, goofy & spontaneous, & complex technical or medical information. Her client list includes Anna's Linens; Smart & Final; Price Chopper; Netzero/Juno (instructional DVD with service); & various fast-food chains across the country in their touch-screen ordering menus (including two restaurants at Epcot Center), in both English & Spanish. She also has an extensive list of telephone systems, voicemail & on-hold messaging clients she works with regularly. She is also an accomplished singer, having performed in a staggering array of musical shows, from regional theatre Broadway-style shows, cabaret, avant-garde opera, & fully improvised musicals.

My Training

Silvie studied voiceover at Kalmenson & Kalmenson, The Voicecaster, Terri Apple, & Mari Weiss, & acting at Oxford School of Drama; South Coast Repertory Adult Conservatory; Grove Shakespeare. She loves to be in class, so she usually is. She continues to find new classes in voice, voice acting, acting, & Spanish, to keep honing her skills. She was a Los Angeles TheatreSports company member & is a current company member of ComedySportzLA.

My Studio Equipment

We use a MAC, MBox2 (Pro-Tools) & GarageBand, & a PPA LD-one Mic. We supply dry vocals & have had very pleased clients for years with this system.

Additional Skills

Silvie is a singer (musical theatre; blues; rock; pop; standards - alto, mezzo, soprano), & an improvisor (ComedySportzLA company member), where she teaches improv to high school students. She also coaches improv for Gourmet Detective, a murder mystery dinner theatre company. She is an on-call employee of Kaiser Permanente, where she performs one-act shows specially written to teach communication skills, cultural awareness, & other vital issues to Kaiser clinicians as part of their ongoing training. She was once a medical assistant, where she learned how to correctly pronounce & spell more medical jargon than you can possibly imagine.
