I have a very smooth, reassuring speaking style that I can adapt from warm and gentle for childrens projects, to deep and sultry for commercials. Either of these would work well for books on tape or tv projects. I enjoy playing with accents, however I also do well with professional presentations as I have experience in presenting to large groups and public speaking.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Being from the Midwest, I can effectively perform the "Northern" or "Canadian" accent and enjoy a good parody as such. These seem to be popular for character use in sporting or outdoor life projects.
I have a very convincing Southern accent, which offers a variety of options from character voices to select commercials.
I had refined my British accent quite well and used to read appropriately written books to my children using the British accent.
After 7 years of studying French, I have an excellent French accent, appropriate for advertising or character voiceover.
My natural speaking voice is very easily described as non-regional dialect, which would allow a variety of opportunities for generic projects in which no discernable accent is preferred.
I still love the infamous "Valley Girl" accent and can perform it very well, which could be fun also for character or advertising programs.

My Voice Experience

Although I am new to voice over work as a profession, I have done considerable speaking, which began with joining Toastmasters as a young adult, to voluntary speaking engagements for MADD.
While in corporate America, I delivered many professional presentations and developed a rhythm and delivery that has proven to be conducive to keeping an audience interested.
As a widowed mother of twin infants, I read with great expression and creatively used accents in order to keep them entertained. Grammar and diction have always been very important to me.
I have often been told I should use my voice for the types of projects avavilbe through Voice123.

My Training

I have an Associate of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, and my major was psychology, but I also focused on public speaking, journalism, and sociology. This focus enabled me to learn HOW to speak effectively to a variety of people and to understand the potential impact of my voice inflection.
I have participated in several plays, in high school and Community Theater, playing roles that included interesting characters.
I was also fortunate enough to direct a play for which I could control the delivery of lines to the extend that it enriched the characters.

My Studio Equipment

Although I have recorded in a studio, I do not have a home studio. I have used audio programs available for computer use and have worked independantly on voice recordings to refine my voice over talents.

Additional Skills

Aside from my corporate presenting experience and public speaking for MADD, I once was participated as speaker for a national beauty pageant. I loved the theatrical way I was able to use my voice for presenting bios and details about the contestants and welcoming them to the stage. My performance was described as "the best in the pageant" by colleagues and audience members.

Being a bit of bold character myself, I would appreciate the opportunity to get involved in voice over projects so I can build specific experience.
