My Voice Experience

I started doing radio 15 years ago in 1993 and have been hooked ever since. I worked in country, lite rock, classic rock and pop music, so I'm versitile. I've voiced/produced commercials for radio and television, promos and office answering systems. I also have been active in directing and performing in musical theater for the past 15 years, so I am also a vocal talent for jingles. I've directed 8 musical theater productions and performed in over a dozen.

I did a Johnson and Johnson on-air promotion in 2006 for their Purpose Skin Care line that aired for 6 weeks primetime on the #1 local radio station in Charlottesville, VA, just outside of Richmond, VA.

I recorded an album in 1996 with Soundstage Theater Company in Charlottesville, VA and again in 1998 as a Christian duo group, so I am no stranger to the studio.

I have had several promos that I've written for radio picked up and passed on to larger venues.

My Training

I credit my voice capabilities to past 15 years spent behind the mic at various radio stations. I first started as an intern at 3WV radio in 1993 while attending Piedmont Virginia Community College. I learned from verteran DJ's how to enunciate and speak clearly and smoothly.

I also took classical voice training for 2 1/2 years from Soundstage Theater Company with Mark Bzdick. I studied voice and musical theater under him from 1991-1996, and went on to direct 8 and perform over a dozen musical theater productions.

From 2002-2006 I directed and coordinated a 30 person choir and praise team for a local church.

My Studio Equipment

I have a very simple studio. My software is Audacity, I have an EV mic and processor and my computer. I can create voice mp3 files and wav files. I do have access to a larger studio, but I prefer to do the work in my home studio.

Additional Skills

I work with kids a lot. Mostly preschool age to grade 2. I sing with them, teach them music and to play the guitar. I work for a software company currently, I've done retail and car stereo equipment sales and support, carpet cleaning, as well as working for Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. I love history.
