Voice Description

I grew up in the deep South, but made a concerted effort at an early age not to sound like a hick. The Southern in me does come out, though, from time to time. Most people in the South ask me where I'm from, and when I tell them, they usually don't believe me. I do several different American and foreign accents, specializing in British and Irish brogues. I can also pitch my voice higher or lower, depending on what is asked and/or required.

My Voice Experience

I perform in live stage performances through Tupelo Community Theatre, and have won state and regional acting awards in community theatre competitions. I have worked in local and national radio for more than 25 years. I have also worked on independent films, both on screen and off screen.

My Training

I majored in Broadcast Communications at Mississippi State University in the mid 1980s.

Additional Skills

I sing. I have the sound of a mezzo soprano with the range of a coloratura. Chest voice covers nearly two octaves. Can sing with or without vibrato.
