My Voice Experience
For almost 2 years I've been doing voice-overs for EBRU TV dubbing Turkish TV shows into English. This has allowed me to not only use my own voice but create character voices depending on the person I'm dubbing. I've played multiple characters on several of their shows. The characters I've dubbed are all 50 and over.
I was tudored by a professional to create my commercial and narration demo and in that process I learned how to use my voice for them.
My Training
I really haven't had formal voice over training. My training has been on the job for the 2 years I've been dubbing TV shows for the Turkish TV stations. My voice over demo demonstrates the different emotions I can project as well as being able to tell a story using just my voice. I took a voice over seminar recently with Ed Batchelor, a commercial agent, and he indicated I had a future in non-union work.
My Studio Equipment
None at the moment but I've seen how the audio engineering works by doing to the voice overs I've done for the last 2 years as well as the voice over demo I recorded.
Additional Skills
I've done mostly theatre before I retired. I sometimes have to create a character voice that is not my own. I've been an avid movie goer all my life and as an actor I've learned a lot about using my voice by watching films, especially animated films.
I can project many emotions with my voice.
My job consisted of a lot of telephone work and I would often get comments from my clients about how good my voice sounded over the phone. It comes across younger than I am but I can also project older if I wanted to.
