Voice Description
My natural voice is smooth, feminine, articulate, and wholesome. When I give a presentation, I'm able to use my voice to sound professional, enthusiastic, and keep my listener's attention by varying my vocal pitch. When portraying various characters, I can sound like a Southerner,a Puritan, a nerdy professsor, etc. I'm a professional storyteller and can easily change my voice to depict different animals "sexy,sly"-snake, "squeaky"-baby owls, "snooty"-skunk, "know -it-all"-owl, "whining"-turtle, etc. I can carry a tune and will sometimes sing during my stories.

My Voice Experience
I have been a Seasonal Park Naturalist and Volunteer at Ernie Miller Nature Center since 1995. During the past 10 years, I have given numerous animal presentations, told countless stories, and portrayed various historical characters. I have altered my voice to represent- "Mattie Johnson"-Pioneer Woman, "Goodwife Constance Snow"- Puritan, and "Georgette Tucker"-Lamp of Freedom character. I have learned to adapt my voice to fit my unique characters and have become quite uninhibited. I , along with 2 other professional storytellers, made a Storytelling CD in 2002 called Animal Tales. This CD is sold at Ernie Miller Nature Center. I have also sold many of the CD's after my own personal storytelling events.
