While I am new to voice-over work, I have been hired many times to perform phone work, both outgoing and incoming, due to the quality of my speech and the depth and tone of my voice. During my first several months of voice-over work, while I am still "learning the ropes", as it were, I will be willing to accept low-budget work in exchange for experience, so please take advantage while you can.
We can both benefit from my relative inexperience, and you will not be disappointed by the quality of my voice or my technical ability. (A 20-year veteran of IT work, I am no stranger to FTP, email, file compression, or any other technical challenge that might stump another beginner in this field.)
Though largely self-trained, I did participate in some formal education at Tarrant County College (Hurst, TX) during the early 90s that initiated and contributed to my expertise and interest in this industry. I took advantage of both theory and practical courses offered there.
Admittedly, the early 90s' audio technologies were primitive compared to today's, but I try to keep myself informed about developments in the field of audio production. During that period, I also performed sound reinforcement for a local pop/alternative rock band in the Dallas area. I possess 4 Macintosh workstations and have experience with iMovie, Garage Band, and Audacity applications. I am currently learning other technologies, as well.
Moreover, during my high school and early college years, I was immersed in the performing arts, having tenor and bass trombone in both symphonic and jazz ensembles. I was a featured soloist during many performances, was once honored as outstanding musician at a regional jazz contest, and received the Louis Armstrong award my senior year in high school.
