Voice Description

Though my voice is naturally deep, I can both increase its pitch to a falsetto and decrease it to basso profundo at need. I'm also capable of altering it in ways too odd to authentically describe in words (other than, for example, raspiness).

I can imitate many different accents in English, especially American (Midwest and Southern), British (Recieved pronounciation, Cockney, Scouse), and several ethnic accents (southern Italian, Jamaican, German, Quebec French, Indian/Pakistani, France French, &c.) Additionally, I can speak French with a Quebec or Parisian accent.

The range of emotions I can express is wide; though I am strongest at comedic parts, I am also capable of sounding very serious or emotional depending on the tone required for the scene.

The following list is a decent sample of the caracters and people I can emulate: Woody Allen; Darth Vader, Yoda, and Tarkin from "Star Wars"; Wolfman Jack; Sonny Corleone from "The Godfather"; Gollum; Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama; Sean Connery; HAL 9000; General "Buck" Turgidson from Dr. Strangelove; Tardy the Turtle and Count Blah from "Greg the Bunny; Beavis and Butt-Head; Barney Gumble, Waylon Smithers, C. Montgomery Burns, and Krusty the Klown from "The Simpsons."

My Voice Experience

This is where most people lie; unfortunately I'm much too honest. I will state outright that I don't have much professional experience as a voice actor, but please, "hear" me out.

If you're still with me, well then thank you (hey, after that lame pun, even I wanted to punch myself). What I just wrote should have completely killed what little chance I had to make a career of voice over in the first place. While I don't have much professional experience, I have been honing my vocal skills ever since I was a child.

The closest to professional voice experience I have is that I I worked as a DJ for CIXS radio station while I was a student at Dawson College. I was given 3 shows in 2 semesters, and also acted as a troubleshooter whenever some DJs had alcohol-related mishaps (unfortunately quite frequent). While there, I was commended for my booming voice and my easygoing manner both on and off-air.

I take my voice very seriously, and even when quoting a character, I do my best to capture not just their essence, but their almost imperceptible inflections and vocal eccentricities. That might seem slavishly unoriginal, but I'm also quite capable of creating original voices, thank you.

Additionally, I took acting classes for over a year, and since that time found my voice has become infinitely more expressive as far as emotions are concerned.

If that hasn't sold you on me, I'm also dirt cheap and not in the union.

My Training

Montreal School of Performing Arts: Acting I, II, and III (2005)
New York Film Academy: 8 week Filmmaking workshop (which included a Narration seminar et. al) (2004)
McGill University: BA, Political Science and History (2003)

Additional Skills

I'm a filmmaker first and foremost. I've made several short films and one feature film. Some of my other skills vaguely related to voice work include photography, writing and acting. Some of my skills not seemingly related to voiceover work at all are outdoor survival (camping, swiming, canoe/kayaking, hiking, etc.), driving (class 5), cycling, and having a sense of humour (less a skill than a survival necessity).
