Voice Description

My speaking voice is rich in quality. Deep, but not the raspy sound from smoke or drink. I would categorize it as soothing baritone. I can lower the depth of my voice so it bottoms deep in the scale while also retaining correct pronunciation. I can also raise the tone of my voice considerably. I have lived in the southern United States all my life, but speak in Standard American English, although I'm sure my speech patterns mimic southern cadences. I can do southern accents that range from moderate to over the top. Narration is what I would like to do the most.

My Voice Experience

Currently I have no "professional" experience in the voice-over industry, however I am not a stranger to speaking in front of audiences. I regularly read long segments of scripture for the churches I have attended and have received considerable praise for my delivery and pronunciation. I have been told on numerous occasions by people that they enjoy listening to the sound of my voice. In addition to reading regularly for audiences, I have taken college courses on speech and communication.

My Training

I have a Bachelor of Arts in History, but I have taken numerous speech and communication classes. I have recorded demos in a studio with an industry professional, Joe Loesch. Through his introductory classes on the voice-over industry I have a much clearer understanding of what is expected to be successful, and I know how to take direction and coaching with grace and aplomb.

Additional Skills

My primary field of study in college was history, so i have an avid appreciation for details. I listen extremely well to others before offering or receiving feedback. My current career plans are to continue historical study on the graduate and doctoral levels and use my voice-over talents to provide supplemental income.
