My Voice Experience

I currently work at the Portland Radio Group and can be heard on-air weeknights on the overnights on Oldies 100.9, Weekend day-shift on the new Coast 93.1, and Sunday mornings with sports on AM WGAN. My desire to voice-over commercials has become a reality, in training!! I have ALWAYS had an interest in "doing" voices and it's these little "voices" in my head that compel me to become a master of this craft! HAHA, little voices! I also do imaging and station promos for an online radio group, ZTLK.COM and read copy for their evening news feeds. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies with my wife, long walks on the beach, and talking to myself!!!!!!

My Training

To be perfectly honest, I have never had any formal vocal training. In fact, I majored in SCULPTURE at the Maine College of Art! It has simply been my intensity and drive that has led me to where I am now, oh yeah, and a little bit of talent I suppose! I am currrently in "training" for producing commercial spots which means "voice opportunity." Basically my whole life has been involved with training (see above paragraph, EXPERIENCE, under "talking to myself."

Additional Skills

Additional skills include a mysterious ability to ALPHABETIZE words in my head. I hear a word and then alphabetize the letters in that word....odd, I know. I am also becoming quite proficient with software programs such as GarageBand and ProTools and love composing and layering tracks for imaging use on-air. A good sense of humor has been very helpful in meeting new people and engaging in a feeling of trust....it has also been beneficial when writing my own "scripts!" I'm upbeat and positive and trust me, I can work my a-- off!!
