Voice Description

I am best described as the guy next door. I can hang out with the firefighters and be your buddy at the Golf tournament. That is who I am. I can tell a joke in an Irish brogue or a warm love story in a French accent.

I can utilize various placements to sound a bit younger or more mature. Beyond that, I can even expand my range to an older politician or a youngster. Nonetheless my most natural fit is still most certainly "regular guy".

My Voice Experience

I realized that I enjoyed voice over when I was at California State University Northridge pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Film Production. I had a project to edit a scene from the old television show "Gunsmoke" on 16mm film. Instead of using the existing sound track, I decided to narrate the whole scene as Ross Perot. After all, I'm sure Marshall Dillon was concerned about raising taxes.

I was in "Oklahoma!" at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.

I did a pro-bono promotion for Michael Rand and Associates Mortgage Lender in Santa Clarita (KHTS radio) AM 1220.

My Training

I was originally inspired by my family to pursue voice over, because they noticed a natural ability for me embody a character, entertain, and articulate using my voice.

From that point I pursued classes at the Voice Over Connection through Dolores Diehl. I was referred to her by an accomplished actor that I have worked with named Maz Jobrani. I learned animation, commercials, narration, and promos in some relatively advanced courses that I took through her program. Additionally, through the Voice Over Connection, I studied under Roger Scott, which I thoroughly enjoyed. From him I learned comedy characters and commercials. In addition, I have attended workshops and auditioned under James Mandel as well. I have met various directors and casting agents including Eric Seistrand and others from Disney.

As I was developing my demo, I was referred by John Matthew to a man named Doug Rye. Doug Rye is tremendously warm and funny. I really enjoyed the workshop that I attended under him. I learned how to do promotions for a "television mini-series event" recording at the same time as picture, which requires some skill.

Additional Skills

I used to do a news show for Oxnard College dating all the way back to 1993. I thoroughly enjoyed this because I got the chance to relate with other people by interviewing them. This is what I love about voice over. I get to be myself and share my heart. I firmly believe that the industry of voice over is beautiful, because it brings out the strengths in each and every individual that partakes.

Through my recent experience in Sales, I learned the importance of building a strong network of people. I also learned the importance of having confidence in your product or service.

I have been blessed by every individual I have worked with and studied under. Finally, I can imagine just about anyone or anything, and that allows for tremendous range in understanding characters. It enhances the direction that I receive. Undoubtedly, I can find a correlation between the direction I am receiving and someone or something that I have heard, seen, or embodied.
