My Voice Experience

Seth completed an introduction to voiceovers class through Voices for All on July 23, 2008.

Seth has enjoyed using his voice in child care and church settings. Dramatized readings and oral stories have been an enjoyable life-line that he has used in summer camp and after-school programs. Because of friends recommendations, Seth decided to look into a more professional use for his voice.

With a good amount of practice in presentation through argue and debat format classes (political science, law) and public speaking classes in college, I feel very confident in presenting messages on camera or voice overs. I have been complemented at public speaking for both visual presentation and language clarity. I can use inflextion and pause to aid understanding or emphasize a certain point in speaking.

Additional Skills

Teaching and legal secretary jobs have taught me how to speak infront of people in a clear voice (phone lines). Keeping students focused often required alterations in voice to emphasize a mood or an idea as central to a lesson. Wait time is also an important point of teaching whether in questions or to allow an idea or instruction to sink in.
