Voice Description

I am just starting out in a voice over career. I have been told for numerous years that I have a DJ and/or announcer type voice when speaking/conversing to people. My normal talking voice is very pleasant and somewhat deep sounding. I have a wide range in the way that I can speak and can change it as necessary for the specific environment I am in at the time. I have done public speaking/narrations very well in the past for high ranking military officers and was highly lauded by them for my performance each time. I am able to mimic numerous accents using the English language. I can also speak some Spanish and German with the respective accent. I am able to do various cartoon characters voices which my two sons and their schoolmates loved when I would go on school field trips with them in the past. I can sound very professional when required or sound rather silly as well. I have a very pleasant singing voice as well and actually sang in competition in High School. My range is from Tenor to Bass though I normally sing in the Tenor range.

My Voice Experience

I am just starting out in the professional voice over realm. My 'experience' is from numerous years of making people laugh in the past with the different voices and accents that I can do. I have sang solos in the different Churches that I have attended over the years. I have had to narrate/proctor various official military events over my lengthy military career. I have been told by complete strangers that I have a radio DJ or announcer type voice. Comments like this would originate from people like the girl who would take my order for food at a McDonalds.

My Training

I have no formal training in the voice over realm. I only have natural talent that can be used and developed.

My Studio Equipment

I have personal computer equipment, sound editting software and can go to any recording studio in the Atlanta, GA area to be recorded. I will be procurring more equipment in the near future for use at home as well. The first thing that I really need to get it a good microphone for use at home.

Additional Skills

I have been a memeber of the military for over 26 years now though mainly as an Air Force Reservist. I am currently a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) and am eligible for promotion to Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), the highest Enlisted rank that I can obtain. In the civilian realm, I have an electrical and mechanical engineering background and over 20 years worth of Information Technology experience. I am very well versed on using the various aspects of the Internet and other computer and networking technologies. I work very well with others and also have numerous years of mid and upper level management experience. I am able to work in very stressful environments with a high level of detail and accuracy. I am looking forward to this exciting new experience of voice over work.
