For a woman, I have a deep, rich speaking voice. In contrast, my singing range is soprano. That full range is at your service for voice work.

My Home Base

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

A UK resident since 1996, I can offer RP, Southern London, and Oxbridge accents.

My base accent is a neutral American. A seventh-generation New Yorker, I can give you a number of true New York accents.

Character voices range from the raspy (either "dehydrated" or "too many years of whiskey and cigarettes), jaded, perky "girl next door", various kids' voices, and a few incarnations of innocence.

My Voice Experience

I started as a disc jockey at WSUL in Monticello, where I also did commercial voice-overs, production and copy writing. The news director brought me into the newsroom, and I added news writing and delivery to my resumé.

For WVIP in Mt. Kisko, I worked as a disc jockey.

Both of these jobs involved reading live news and commercial copy.

For the NBC Radio Network, I delivered hourly news round-ups to our network affiliates.

Since that time, I have performed as a live storyteller (almost exclusively for adults), working from Canada to South Korea. This has increased me vocal flexibility and staying power.

My Training

My primary broadcast training was with ATS (Announcer Training Studios) in New York City. In addition to the work cited above, I also have experience as a desk assistant in major market stations and networks, including WNEW AM and FM and the Wall Street Journal Radio Network.

My BA is in anthropology and communication. I have two MA degrees: one in creative and life writing; the other in performance. All of my degrees are from the University of London.

I attended commercial copy writing workshops with Joy Advertising and have taken journalism classes at the New School for Social Research and with Media Bistro.

In the past year, freelance writing has seen me published in America and Canada.

I have done enough work to net myself union membership in the US and the UK.
