Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
My mother and her side of the family is 100% Italian, and as a result I am able to do Italian-American type characters. I have a natural ear for accents, some of my better ones include High British (i.e. Shakespearian, or wealthy lord-type), Russian, Irish (either real or over-the-top-lucky-charms), German, Southern Drawls, Hard Chicago (real or Superfans...Da Bearss!), and New York.
My Voice Experience
Trained with Sound Advice in Chicago where my demos were recorded. Prior to now, my experience has all been in acting and some singing, as well as live radio productions of "It's a Wonderful Life".
My Training
Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Lewis University, also majored in vocal performance at University of Evansville. Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus 1983-1986. Various college theatre productions with prominent roles. Stages Chicago Musical Workshop festivals. Taught children's theatre for several years with Our Town Productions and Rialto School of the Arts in Joliet, IL.
My Studio Equipment
PC with Audacity, Samson G-track microphone with pop filter.
Additional Skills
I have been in sales of one type or another for most of my working life, and I choose A.M. radio over music for my commutes and usually TV over movies, especially programs on Discovery, TLC, and A&E. As a result, I feel I am well versed in the subtleties of making things sound appealing in commercials and what motivates people to buy, as well as the tones for different types of documentary programming.
