I used to phone one of my friends who Scottish, and if his wife answered, I used to talk to her in a gay Scottish accent, and she thought she was talking to her cousin, and it wasn't till I asked for her husband in my own English accent, that she realised it was me.
When I was in the Army, I got one of my senior Sergeants doing various jobs by putting on an Irish accent, beceause my Battery Sergeant Major was Irish, and I had him off to a T.
Last week, a guy was picking on a young lad for wearing a Rangers shirt, so I went over, and said in a Scottish accent, are you slagging off my Football team, he turned round, stuttered no, I'm only joking, and offered to buy me a drink, thus having to keep up the accent till he dissappeared. The young lad came up and thanked me, I said in my own accent, thats OK, he said you're not Scottish, He thought I really was.
I once rang my mother pretending to be one of her old female clients that she used to home help for, which she fell for, but didn't last long cos I burst out laughing.
I was working as a Security Guard at Tesco's, and a customer came up to me talking in an Austrailian accent, so I replied in an Astrailian accent, and we talked for quite a while, and off she went, a couple of days later she returned with some friends, and asked me to tell them where abouts in Austrailia I was from, and told them in my normal voice that I was wasn't, and she replied, I thught you was, I've been telling them all about you. I just said all part of the service to make you feel at home. They just walked off laughing.
With being in the Armed Forces. You can imagine, there were a variety of different accents on camp, thats where I managed to pick most of them up.
I have never done voice over. I have enquired by sending emails to various T.V companies, but have never had a reply. So I'm hoping that my talents won't go to waste by advertising on here.
My training has been life itself, using the people that I have lived, and worked with. Knowing that I can pull them off in real life situations, has made me more determined to make it in the real voice over world
I would really like to give this a go, so if there is someone out there willing to give me a go, it would give me a life changing experience, and give me the opportunity to do something I've wanted to do for years, instead of having to do something that I have hated doing for years, but that has paid my bills. So please give me a chance, it would be very much appreciated.
