Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Strong impersonations of anglo-american southern white male. Oh, wait, that's me. Range from the city sidewalk to the southern deep woods, with divisions of American dialects and southern regions (Texas and Georgia markets do not have the same southern dialect.) I enjoy playing with British and Ausie sounds and their unique emphasis on vowels. To be clear here, I am a true Texan. I can also be crisp and mid-west neutral.

My Voice Experience

Project experience includes radio, commercials, narrations, presentations, characters, videos & DVDs, multimedia, PowerPoint, training, documentaries, etc. I also MC and voice-over live events and meetings. Project clients have included radio spots for Ballet Austin, Austin Children's Shelter, corporate videos for Raytheon, and other defense clients including congressional-level briefings, local cable commercials, and long-format product videos for trade shows. And now, of course, the past few years of training, regular practice and auditioning. Yes, lovin' it.

My Training

Two years with VoiceWorks Lainie Frasier, refining in-studio work. One year with M.J. Vandivier, certified Lessac-methods voice coach for stage, screen and voice actors - she knows how to shape and culture a voice. I began this journey in radio many years ago, and have delivered many products for commercials and corporate video.

My Studio Equipment

I use a limited home set-up to provide auditions with an Audio-Technica mic. I use a variety of audio software tools to refine an audition file. Then, for work delivery, I utilize the studios of Joel Block, a multi-Addy-winning producer with many years of production across the variety or genres and industries. He developed and voiced Earth and Sky for NPR, and many others. In the studio, I have access to the best sound and music libraries. By teaming with Joel, we produce custom pieces including custom sound design and music. It is also equipped with various live patches. I will also work with other local studios.

Additional Skills

Long-experienced at writing for the ear.

I compete in speech competitions and have twice made it to the semi-finals of the Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking.

My first love, the headset and mic, always calls me back.
