Voice Description
I have a smooth delivery for announcer reads, sincere and warm for the slower paced to medium upbeat voice overs, but can certainly do my share of hard sell reads too. I also am very good at scary and sinister voice overs, such as the type of spots that mention Halloween haunted attractions, etc. I have also done voice overs for video presentations, on hold messages for various businesses, and have recorded (as a personal demo) books on tape types of recordings.

My Voice Experience
I got in the radio business in December 1980, and was an on air announcer and commercial vo talent for the first 7 years, but my passion was always in doing various voice overs in the production room. I became the production director in 1987 at Louisville's Clear Channel Radio, and remained through the end of November 2007. I have done vo's for radio and tv that have aired in other markets such as Missouri, Tennessee, (Chicago)Illinois, (Indianapolis)Indiana, Ohio, New York, and even in the Ukraine! My experience includes not only voice overs of many types, but also recording, mixing, and producing commercials on a daily basis.
My Training
I was very fortunate to have gotten in the radio business with no previous training. I quickly adapted to the vo jobs and what was required, but I also seeked the guidance and advice from my more experienced co-workers, so that I may always be open to improvement. I've also listened to other announcers on their spots, and focused on what I thought was so good about their talent, and in turn, kept learning how to sharpen my inflections, pronunciations, and dynamics
to be the best voice over person I can be.

Additional Skills
Over the years, I've had lots of clients specifically ask for my voice for their spots. The vo style I get asked to do most is a straight announcer read, friendly, warm, and enthusiastic.
Other reads I'm asked to do are deeper, mellow, sincere approaches, and on occasion, sinister and scary voice overs, especially during the Halloween season.
