Americans from all walks of life and from every part of the country have found my voice appealing enough to compliment it because it is clear and commanding but still friendly enough to not sound overbearing. My friends, however, say I can sound more pompous and arrogant than Senator Foghorn when I wish to... My vocal training has mostly come from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the widely admired and respected museum created by John D Rockefeller Jr from the originial colonial landmarks. The many historical programs and tours have allowed me to develop a vocal personality that can convey elegance and historical significance as well as the humor and ironic aspects of over 300 years of history. I am told that I can convincingly and elegantly describe historical events, yet also tell the humorous stories with a friendly tone.
News Director at WWHS-FM, the college radio station at my alma mater, Hampden-Sydney College. Wrote, edited, times and delivered a 15 minute national and state news summary every weeknight. Professional vocal training from a variety of church musicians and from the outstanding coaches and directors at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation of the Commonwealth oF Virginia, highly respected museum facilities and from Agecroft Hall, a 17th century living history museum in Richmond, Virginia.
I have access to a relatively small, but very well established (1958) local AM station in my hometown that has excellent facilities. I could arrange for studio time with many larger stations in the Norfolk or Richmond radio market should such need occur.
For over two years I wrote, edited, timed and delivered a nightly 15 minute nightly news program. Experienced at writing short news stories, commentaries and low key but descriptive radio commercials.
