My Voice Experience

I have worked in U.S. radio for 20+ years, beginning at the tender age of seven.

Maybe not, but I did actually start as a teen, figuring I'd kick around a radio station while I got through college. After starting and stopping school three times to follow my radio "hobby", (people just kept hiring me, that was nice) I realized that college had become the hobby and radio was my nice little career. Go figure.

As a result, I've worked for several medium and major marktets, even picked up side gigs, like working for a news station, doing commercial voiceovers for everything voice-overable both regionally and nationally; I did television music countdowns, narratives, movie trailers, TV commercials and infomercials.

I've been program director of a radio station group and scored the station some commercial production awards. And along the way I wrote a bunch of commercial scripts, even a book, had some kids, and then proceeded to do film and TV projects which funny for a girl who always loved to hide behind a microphone.

So here I am, tucked away in SW Florida with a little setup of my own, voicing over commercials, audio books, podcasts, infomercials--you know, just selling, selling, selling....

My Training

Training, seriously? All my teachers told me not to do this.

Actually, I'll say my extensive radio background is my education. Although once upon a time I used a vocal coach to wash down my Midwest sound to better my nationwide ads. I think it took :-)

My Studio Equipment

I have a nice little in-house studio for voiceover production--great mic, sound, software, etc.

I also have access to a splendid studio nearby--Dave Elliot--for anything that requires some extra pow or full scale production. He negotiates an independent rate and he's fabulous.
