Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Living in the Northwest of the U.S, my voice is naturally more neutral, so I don't have a pre-disposed accent of any sort. However, I can mimic accents from other parts of the country. All I need to hear is an example of the dialect (something that I'll research on my own) and I'm able to incorperate it into whatever script I'm reading.

The same goes for accents of another country (British, French,...etc.)

My Voice Experience

I have not had any professional work as a Voice Artist. However I've plenty of practice from reading various books to younger children (and creating seperate 'voice indenity's' for each character)

Both in High School and College (which I currently attend) I've read several scripts for various Drama productions; a few of which were performed either on stage on in front of a camera.

My Training

Currently I attend my local community college; I registered for an "Acting for Camera" class, but fell more in love with portraying the different characters more so than appearing on the camera itself.

In High School, I took various drama courses which required reading from scripts and performing monologues as well as two person scenes. On stage I've portrayed only female roles; however in classroom settings I've lent my voice to a mulitude of characters. I also was part of a debate team which helped me devloped a neutral "calm, cool, and collected" voice when needed.

I'm always open to taking more classes and workshops though.

My Studio Equipment

I don't have my own studio at home, which is why I'd prefer going to an actual recording studio of some sort. Although I live in Olympia, it's easy enough for me to travel up to the Seattle area (or other city/town that you have a studio in).

I do have a laptop at home though, that does have a working built in microphone, so I can record my voice via the laptop and email the recording.

I have home telephone and cellphone, although I'm not sure if the quailty would work for a recording (via phone).

Additional Skills

I've worked in Customer Service for the past two years, so I know how to make my voice welcoming as well as put a person at ease. I've been told that it translates quite well over phone (cases in which a person can't see my face). However I'm able to do more than just portray calm. Whatever the tone or personality you need, I can adapt my voice easily and let the traits you want show through.
