Voice Description

My voice is malleable it can be grave and clipped for announcements, warm and sensual for narrations, fun and excited for commercials. It is fairly low and husky, but not exclusively seductive. It is a dynamic, colourful tool and I have an excellent ear for pace, timing, intonation and the subtle nuances that are required for voiceover work.

My Voice Experience

I have extensive performance experience in the world of theatre and cabaret, working as a compere, actor and singer. I write for performance and create large scale site specific performances in unusual spaces. I have recorded Roald Dahl children stories, and a lot of voice overs that we have used in the performances I have done with the Invisible circus, I have created voiceovers and sound scapes which range from very clipped announcements to desperate screams and shouts, and seductive pleadings all of which were used to add another layer of meaning or perspective on to the physical performance.

My Training

I have A levels in English lit, history and music, and a Batchelor of Arts degree in English and film. I went to elocution lessons as a child, and did speech and drama exams scoring mostly distinctions. I have had extensive performance experience both in performing and creating shows and installations.I am a singer, mainly jazz and blues and my own work and have a studio where I create soundscapes and meld my words and music together.

My Studio Equipment

I have a basic studio set up including monitors, a mac book, cubase sx, a tc electronic konnekt 24d audio interface, and a condenser mic and some instrument mics. I also have the bbc sound effects library.
