My Voice Experience
As a mother of a one and three year old I have the ability to when reading a story and at play to switch characters to make the even more exciting. When reading I actually envision myself as that character and create a voice that I believe that character would sound like.
At play with my children I use a southern voice which makes them feel playful and jolly. It also creates an opportunity for them to repeat words I use and useful when teaching new ideas to them.
In my day-to-day job as a teacher/trainer, I have had to use many voices and tones to keep my audience interested in my presentation. So it may consist of me creating another character of myself that would intrigue the listener to either join in on my presentation or provide a voice which, projects at certain times but also soothes.
Usually when doing a presentation I start out by using a soft and soothing voice where the audience is not intimidated but having a feeling of calmness. Once into the presentation I will use stronger tones and character voices. This has also been done when providing CD and Live-feed trainings to groups/individuals.
My Training
As a trainer I attend a great deal of train-the-trainer sessions that help to create new ways of training different audiences. I have also learned to use many styles depending on what I am presenting to an audience.
I have taken several graduate courses in teaching which, have allowed me to take the lead in group assignments where I can project myself as a team leader using different management styles.
I view many news channels where I get the opportunity to hear sounds, see facial expressions and tones that are used to create and end a story line. This has also helped a great deal with using correct pronunciation. In addition, I have use speech coaches/videos to assist in this area.

Additional Skills
My beginning start of being comfortable using many voices has come from my religious background as a young girl speaking to others. I would give presentations and speeches to help develop my understanding of a topic as well as help others with presenting information. It helped with being creative when writing a story line or creating material to keep someone or my audience enlighten with my presentation.
