My Voice Experience
I was thown into a production director positition one day after being in radio for 2 years. After that I was awarded over 85 ADDY and Ks. Assn. of Broadcasters awards. I mananged to beat some big-time ad agencies with best of show, best radio producer, and best recording engineer for a commercial for my wife who owns a sign shop. During the point when Tesla's "Signs" was popular, I did a 60" version playing all the instruments and singing--it sounded quite authentic. I have directed hundreds of other people doing voice work for years. I am curently the radio and (sometimes) TV voice for Spangles Restarants, based out of Wichita with stores all over the state.
My Training
I majored in communications at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS under the wonderful mentorship of the late Jack Heather. But my work schedule at the radio station and lack of funds did not allow me to finish my degree. I have been used as an expert for several seminars in creative production at Fort Hays. I have been a musician since I was in High School and continue to play live every weekend. I run a 5 piece band with my wife and keep it booked nearly every weekend a year. I have produced music from country, orchestral, punk, rock, Christian rock and new age.
My Studio Equipment
I used to have an ftp site, but most wanted an mp3 files. So I will not set up an ftp unless needed.
I use a custom built, stripped-down desktop running XP and Adobe Audition 1.5 with 10,000 rpm hard drives and low latency memory.
MOTU 24-i/o, 24 ch in/out sound card.
Processing--Focusrite Platinum Pro preamp running straight to the computer, with the mic straight into the Focusrite.
I also use a Mackie 24:8 console for monitoring or recording bands.
Monitors: Mackie HR-824 (JBL 4410's back-up)
Mics: EV RE-27, AKG-414EB--main mics, old Shure Bros "Brownie" (for some effects), EV RE-200's, plus a selection of Sennheiser 421's Shure 57's, etc
Additional Skills
