Voice Description

Firstly, my accent is a mixture of South African with some french influence as my parents are from Mauritius which is a french speaking island. Having lived in the USA for 7 years, I also have the american influence, but definitely sound foreign. The timbre of my voice is soothing, but can also be assertive and strong. Although English is my first language, I have very passable French, Afrikaans and a little German. I am an avid reader and have read script well off the bat. I read to my kids all the time including all the drama of children's stories. I also volunteeer regulalry at school and read extensively with kids.
I could probably adjust my voice for any situation... I also present Pleasure parties - home parties with an adult twist and have definitely got the gift of the gab when presenting subjects of a more delicate, personal and intimate nature...
I feel confident that I could be proffesional and sharp or humorous and silly and then serious and to the point - as and when required.

My Voice Experience

My voice has been an asset to me in all my jobs. Firstly connecting with people by phone has assured me of being accepted because of the friendly personality that is carried across by my voice and the fact that I always remember to smile.
My Pleasure Party presentations give me the opportunity and platform to perform and use my voice to get the attention of my audience. Sometimes if I have a particularly rowdy bunch of ladies...I will use my quiet voice and this will often work to get them wondering what I am talking about, especially if I am holding an interesting product in my hand!! I am not experienced in voice recordings, but would love to have the opportunity to be a recognised, sought after talent!

My Training

Voice over has been something I have wanted to do for a while, and decided to go for it when I found this website recently. No experience in voice recording per se, but what can I say, I'm a fast learner and believe that I have a talent.
I love to read all and everything, and it has long been a wish of mine to record books on tape... that would be the ultimate for me.
In school I did several speech and presentation workshops and have no problem with reading or presenting to a group or crowd. Being a home party consultant especially with products that are adult oriented, means I need even more confidence and poise. I am also quite a perfectionist and will not settle for less than the best, so I always go over and above to please and make sure that I have presented a more than acceptable product.

I have worked in a variety of industries including car rental, trucking, the food industry and the home party arena.
In the food industry I was a raw material supplier to practically every consumable industry you could think of, but my biggest clients was the brewing industry. I entertained clients at sport events and presented budgets, hosted facility tours and also did presentations to clients and colleagues on many subjects and applications. I have a way of captivating my audience and a belief in what I am offering that is bound to carry over and get my message across in a sincere, convincing and authentic manner.
