Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Crusty old prospector voice, can do slight inflections when portraying different characters in a narration. Can also do a caricature of an old woman.

My Voice Experience

I worked in broadcasting as an announcer and news reader for 12 years before doing voice work.

I enjoyed putting together documentaries and special program narratives for the holidays. I produced a 90 minute weekly feature magazine for radio. I also produced a live 90 minute monthly breakfast club broadcast the featured short comedy sketches.

Began narrative writing for Cable TV doing "welcome vision" segments for a tourist community. Later I did chamber of commerce videos, and voice over’s for television commercials. Have also written and narrated some programs about the holidays and the subject of divorce.

Is a student of National Public Radio, The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and the British Broadcasting Corporation.

My Training

I was manager of the radio station in College;

took some theatre classes in college.

am self taught, learning by doing and sitting at the feet of a mentor - when I could find one;

have managed several radio stations - which gave me the freedom to try things I thought innovative with communication - such as described above.;

am a student of words, and how words are used to paint a picture in the mind. It is also necessary to use tone and inflection, pauses, etc., with those words to communicate effectively.

The writing of Mark Twain and Garrison Keillor lend themselves to the spoken word.

I do my work with a Sony Vaio. I have Sony Acid Music Studio, Sony Sound Forge, and Sony Architect.

I have a Behringer mixing board, a Behringer B-1 Condenser Microphone, and a Radio Shack 33-3038 Unidirectional Dynamic Microphone.
