Voice Description
Bio
Sandy Beach!
Yes, that's my real
. . . . . . . . . . . . . VOICE!
I have a natural voice for doing informative, hard or soft sell, bouncy, real person commercial spots, as well as a variety of long-form narration including: audiobooks, industrials, multimedia, and internet applications. Also, I sound fabulous on the phone. I work well with others, plus, I am professional, prompt, and believe in the value of communication.
As an active listener, I will get your message quickly, giving you several moods, colors, and tonal inflections. With years reading in front of audiences, I have precise diction, a clear reading voice and excellent microphone technique.
I am fully prepared to make the most of your project. I take direction well, and am not afraid to run with an idea. If you even suspect that I might be right for your next voice over project, please contact me. I am ready to give voice to your concept.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I am a natural mimic, and pick up dialects and inflections almost without thinking about it. I am a native Midwesterner, my natural speaking and reading voice is pleasant with a great deal of inflection, the result of a sparkling personality. Otherwise: Upper class British matron, East Ender, Spoiled Southern Belle, Middle Minnesotan-Fargo "Gosh, Yah-you betcha" voice, Texas Cheerleader, Valley Girl, Allergy Annie, Trailer Trash (complete with bad grammar), Mae West style innuendo, if I hear it, I can usually "do" it.
My Voice Experience
I'm new to the business, but have a lot of life experience and I am very serious about making voice over my next career. While working on my masters degree, I did some telephony work, recording over 300 greetings/on hold voice messages, for a company called Performark, Inc. in Bloomington, MN.
I have a short poetry reading selection on CD in conjunction with a show at Frank Stone Art Gallery in Minneapolis, available upon request.
I did a podcast interview, on a literary & arts site called mentalcontagion(website)/ January 2007, in the archives, section.
Another narration/character demo is featured on the talent roster for HoltonHouseAudio(website)/ an audiobook production company in the Twin Cities area.
What I have to offer any project is enthusiasm, a relaxed demeanor, a sense of humor, a professional work ethic, and potential.
My Training
I graduated from 'Voices For All" Master Class, recently and in 2007 took the introductory class offered by that company, as well.
I hold an MFA in Creative Writing degree from Hamline University. As a poet, I have performed my work in front of live audiences dozens of times, over the past ten years, so I have perfected a clear, sonorous, voice, and quite good mic technique.
I have a B.A. in Communications/Broadcasting from the University of Minnesota. While getting my undergraduate degree, I voiced several TV and radio scripts, doing multiple female characters in each script. I also studied speech, acting and improvisation. I worked in televison for ten years in various production positions.
My Studio Equipment
I will work in any of the many professional recording studios in the Minneapolis/St Paul and suburb area. My home studio includes Pro-Tools, Digidesign, an ADK mic, and a Mac. I will be concentrating on strictly dry recordings to begin, delivery method will be MP3, AIFF, or CD overnight. As my business grows, I will re-invest in equipment upgrades and options to be more versatile.
